Non-Traditional Fishing Dog: Cheyenne

Cheyenne thinking "Don't get that spey rod too close to me"
For this installment of non-traditional fishing dog we have Cheyenne from Seattle.  Cheyenne, a mix of Rhodesian ridgeback, red heeler and visla, accompanies chuck when he stands in one of the S-rivers for some casting practice.  From talking with Chuck, Cheyenne gets to see a lot of the Northwest while they tour from the OP to the Deschutes and everything in between.  Thanks for the submission Chuck, stickers are on their way!

If you have a non-traditional fishing dog, please submit a picture and info to joe@evoanglers.com, and I'll throw it on the blog and ship you some stickers!

  1. Normally, Labradors or Retrievers are used for fishing trips. But I don't see why other breeds should not excel on it. So long as they are trained on water, it should be fine.
